I thought he was suggesting there was no need for you to pipe up and defend players who are clearly good players to everyone, just because someone has a go at them.

And your 'eh?' to my other post baffles me but then you do in general.

Fair play to Le Saux for this. I suppose you never realise what quite goes on with the 'inner-circle' of football, but he clearly got a hard time over something completely moronic.

To be honest, football is generally played by idiots for the entertainment of idiots, yet for some reason many other types of people are drawn to it.

And Townsend.

That was a pretty interesting read, actually.

I always think Le Saux comes across well when on television or being interviewed, but the fact that he is intelligent and articulate played against him as a footballer. It's no surprise that Ince and Fowler are homophobic twats, based on their obvious lack of intelligence - but it's pretty poor that they were able to get away with doing what they did, based on their positions as role models.

I would be inclined to say that homophobia isn't as prevalent now as it was when Le Saux was playing - but I'd think that has a lot to do with the fact that Le Saux isn't playing any more, and there hasn't been any top class players to take his place as an intelligent, articulate footballer.

Sometimes it seems like 90% of OTF think Lampard is just an average player, so I did want to defend him. Totally pointless, no-one on here ever admits there wrong, but isn't everything?
