The word "midget".
I was told today it's derogatory towards a subsection of society who are supposed to be referred to as "little people".
When and why did it become offensive? And more pertinently, who worries about offending someone who's only four foot tall?

i'm sure some people find the word 'dwarf' insulting even though i'm sure dwarf is the technical term or at the very least the scientific term being dwarfism.

Now a days we live in a politically correct world. Seriously, 10 years ago that word had no impact what so ever.
