Default Dodgy loan companies.

Just woke up to a phone call from “Cash Finance Direct” about a loan I looked into a month or so ago. Now I did forget to ask how they got my details, but I was just awake!
The offered me £2.5k and said I had to call this number.. 09056753142 and it would cost me £1.50 a min But they would, ever so kindly, refund the money back to me.
I gave a little laugh and she asked me when id phone, I said in my monotone voice that I would do it ASAP. So I got up, googled the name only to find some helpful comments from moneysavingexpert about not to touch them with a bargepole.

Questions being…
1)Has anyone else heard of them?
2)Why offer a premium rate and say then you can claim the money back?
3)Why couldn’t they process my loan application like anyone else before the call took place when all information was submitted to moneysavingexpert. (Who I looked at to find me a loan)

C’Mon good people of OTF.

If MoneySavingExpert says no... then no.

1/ No
2/ Because they don't believe you'll be arsed to claim it back (you'd have to be proactive to get the money back probably)
3/ I don't understand this question but it's early and I'm only halfway through my first coffee... and I'm thick.

Ps. If your details have been passed on to Cash Finance Direct you must have a pretty appalling credit file

I understand question 3 now... you entered your details into a shopbot?

I would assume they called you because they know they aren't competitive, and they're hoping by soliciting you, you'll be lazy and just go with them and not shop around any more.

18% - you'd be better off with a credit card.
