Is it possible to have a credit rating that's too good? Post #41 | | Newb

The annoying thing is i know a girl who's had interest free credit cards for about 6 years and everytime her interest free period comes to an end she just transfers the balance to a new card without even a sniff of being rejected. She's even bought a £6k car on her card and at one point her balance was almost £8k. Its just crazy how people like her can consistantly get accepted by card companies when its plainly obvious shes going to feck off as soon as the interest free period runs out.

Can anyone recommend a good credit card where you get good free stuff if you can pay it back in full every month?

Rocky - you truly are the master of overreaction.
How many credit cards have you tried, from how many companies? You've been rejected by one from what I can tell, and despite being told otherwise, you've immediately leapt to the conclusion that you're now blacklisted by everyone.

| I've tried two - Halifax & Captital One and got rejected from both. If i continue to apply for others will it only have an adverse effect on my credit rating? The problem is i need it NOW, if i leave it 6 months i'll have paid off my balance by then.
Im just p*ssed off because two of my mates have had no problems getting them whereas no one appears to want to touch me just because i've been too good in the past!

Surely a good bank manager would give you a 50k balance and a brochure of holidays to Bora Bora and the latest Masertai pamphlet?

I applied for a Credit Card to do the same thing Rich. Was rejected for it.
I've missed the occassional payment by a day or two due to absent mindedness now and again. Always paid it sharpish after that though. Plus haven't missed a payment in twelve months prior to applying for the card - so they wouldn't have known that anyway.
Signed up to credit expert so i could find out my credit rating. Found i was just about in the top bracket for credit ratings, so don't really understand why they rejected it.

Not getting them isn't blacklisting, nor lowering your rating. You're not getting them as you won't make them any money.
