I have been putting off watching it for a while but with sky+ I recorded it last night as daytime tv is awful so I watched it today.

My God what a waste of time. Visually the movie is superb but everything else including the acting just sucks baws. Typical example of trying to make a fast buck on a 'name' I'm not the biggest fan of Superman movies period but Superman returns is pretty much an insult. Not even the fb Kevin Spacey could safe this.

Minutes 1 to 30 are fb, the rest of the film gets seriously awful once they try and put a storyline to it.

Indeed. Completely and utterly pointless.

I spent the first twenty minutes wondering when the film would start - then the plane crash happened and i thought "ahh, here we go" then nothing much else for most of the rest of the film. Then once it got to the boat and the Piano scene, i spent the rest of the film praying they werent going to be going with the story line that i thought they'd go with. They did unfortunately.

1 & 2 are good - really want to see the new version of 2 too.

3 is good too - but more as a Richard Prior project than a Superman film.

I didnt enjoy it very much and not sure of actual screen time but i was left thinking that this new Superman fella wasnt really on screen as much as i thought he might be

I dont know why they went with that stupid story anyway ? Why not take a lead from Spiderman movies, keep it short and sweet, chuck some villains in and off you go
