I don't see why they should personally.

I'm afraid I put money into Monkey World simply because I admire the people that run it and I think they're doing a great job. It's no more noble nor considered than that I freely admit.

The link with humans is irrelevant imo.

Exactly. I love Great Whites and I’d be gutted if they were near to extinction (which is looking likely to be soon). However, I wouldn’t say they deserve to receive any special treatment. Don’t see that apes should because they’re our ‘cousins’ or something.
