So I'm bored, and I just want to have a play around with some photos, anyone got a free one that's available for download.

Maybe a trial? Just so I can play with effects.

pretty sure you can get a trial version off the Adobe website.

Costs a fair bit afterwards though

You can download the free trial one of off Adobe.

Then you either have too pay for it, or google for alternatives too paying....

An alternative is GIMP. Search for it. Never used it properly though.

Paint.net does a lot for nothing (except download bandwidth). It's pretty easy to learn too, but isn't quite as powerful as Photoshop.

GIMP is also free, but has a steep learning curve if you're used to Photoshop or Illustrator, etc.
