Yea I agree in part but I think one thing would lead to the other, if there was more time to develop character, storyline etc then more daring tv would be being made but then again if people were being more daring with what is available then perhaps there would be more inclinaton to fund more ambitious projects

The Sopranos and

yeah most cable shows tend to have 10-12 show seasons,(sopranos, Wire, Shield, Deadwood, Carnivale etc) but most network shows tend to have 24 epsiode seasons (Lost, Scrubs, West wing, Friends, X files, etc) I just looked at my dvd shelf so excuse there being not many recent examples. But quantity doesnt equal quality. It jus tmeans when its good there's more of it to be good.
