PSV and Ajax can't afford him. I think he'll go to either AZ or a big foreign club in the winter transfer window.
I knew Ajax couldn't, but how can't PSV afford him but AZ can? </BLOCKQUOTE>
AZ has a rich chairman (Dirk Scheringa) who bought the whole club for about 100 mill. Build the stadium, his company named the stadium and is the shirt sponsor.
Must say, he's not an Abramovich type of chairman, since he already was chairman of the club when it was still playing in the Dutch first Division. It's fair to say he made AZ what it is.
AZ already spent 6 mill for Italian U21 striker Graziano Pelle (Lecce) and about 5 mill for the Brazilian striker Ari (Malmo FF). Now they were ready to spend 15 for Alves.
No Dutch club can top that.

Fágner (not Lúcio Fágner) is very good, or at least he was at Corinthians.
Dutch teams are very good at spotting good young Brazilian players, and unlike the teams from England, Spain and Italy, the Dutch actually let these players play, which is great for them.
