My housemate's 2 hamsters had babies last week and I wanted to flush them all down the toilet. He wouldn't let me. Annoying pointless things, they just sit around in cages doing nothing all day, and they're not even cute. Don't see the point in them at all really.
I'm ok with killing flies, moths, wasps, bees and spiders, as long as they don't go for me. Would be nice to get rid of pigeons too. Fish are a bit rubbish too generally, but they don't really bother me either.

As long as it's either very small, deadly or delicious, it dies. If it's respectably sized, cuddly and preferably labrador-shaped, it deserves survival.

No, he bought a second cage for the adult male to go in though.

Probably due to the value that someone attaches to said animal.
There is no social problem with slaughtering cattle (as long as they are your cattle). If they aren't your cattle and you kill one its a bit like vandalising something that doesn't belong to you as there is an economic value attached to said cow.
Cats and dogs generally belong to someone who attaches an emotional value to them so killing them is a bit heartless.
Your size theory is completely and utterly wrong just going by people hunting wild boar and deer and ****.
