the multiple wives thing isn't in the koran iirc, but mohammed had about 56 of them so they reckon it's generally ok.

mohammed also married a six year old and consummated the union when she was nine. he was 54 at the time and thus couldn't even use the half-age-plus-seven rule to justify it.
