Hello,
I would like to ask if Photoshop users are perferring the new CS(2) versions or sticking with the previous more prevalent versions.
Photoshop templates for websites are usually provided at v6 compatibility (please visit http://www.netizenexpress.com to see what I'm talking about). In your opinion, should templates be provided as v7 or even CS+ compatible files?
Your thoughts would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

I personally prefer cs to all of them. I'm an illustrator, not a photographer.
I have many of my own gradients, styles, actions and contours that I built in 7 and work fine in cs, Don't know how they'd work in cs2. Anyway, I think most of the upgrades in cs2 are for photographers. except for a few things I might 'occasionally' use. I'll stick with cs for now

Well I like CS2 as I do enough work with other people's photographs to find a couple of the goodies particularly valuable. Exposure under adjustments and Lens Correction... (Filter > Distort >) come to mind as very handy, as was Shadow/Highlight which showed up in CS. A couple of my plugins require upgrades still, which is the only downside.
Although I don't use web site templates, I would suggest that PS7 and up should be the compatibility standard. This suggestion is based on the fact that a fair number of Mac users still like OS 9 and PS7 was the last version which ran on that OS. Then I always have a thing about PS6. I never particularly liked it!

My vote goes to .........CS......2!
Ronmatt: You have to check out IllyCS2, If only for the new stroke positioning! Now you don't have to work around your stroke, always being centered, you can place it on the inside, middle or outside of the stroke!! And the new interface and tool options helps reduce all that clutter, palettes can make.

I'm using CS my pc just barely meets the specs.
I feel like I just got CS and we already have CS2..Oh well.
If and when I up grade my PC, (currently on a 600mhz) I'll consider the upgrade to CS2.... Until then I'm fine with CS.
I think compatibility should be for 6 on. 6 brought alot of new things to PS and a lot of people stayed on 6.... This isn't the cheapest program in the world.

nitrobutler......I have the entire cs2 package. I really do like IllyCS2 and In Design. Don't use the Bridge much., sorta like teaching and old dog, new tricks. But as I explained, I have made a collection of styles, actions etc. that I couldn't get to work in pscs2. So I loaded cs back up. I have PS7 on my Mac. That's my favorite. But yes, Ill CS2 is killer.
