Oh and I don't worry about 40 advancing upon me at breakneck pace either. I've never worried about age at all.
Only birthday I ever had any problem with was 22...

I wouldn't be bothered about being 40 really either. I don't think it's that bad.
I didnt like being 22 either |

I've often thought about starting a thread where people could talk about the things they're glad they got to experience because of when they were born.
But ofc I don't start any threads except loads and loads about Medieval History - so this has caused the idea to falter |

Was actually talking about Star Wars with my colleague opposite me today. He was 5 when it came out and he was taken to see it. he remembers booing at Darth Vader and that#s about it.
It was 2 years before i was born.
We both agreed that we'd love to be able to go see a film before we die that has as much of an impact as that did at the time.

So, in conclusion - i think you should start a thread.
It could be a number of things. Basing it around 20th Century cultural events obviously.
What Cultural event are you glad you experienced due to when you were born.
What Cultural event do you wish you'd experienced or old enough to appreciate.
What Cultural event would you like to occur so that you can experience before you die
Would be quite a good thread i think.

I was close to 8 by the time it got to Britain, and I remember the experience quite well. Went with my older brother and he got the little programme which would be worth a fortune now if he'd kept it.
The Wow factor was quite immense I have to admit, but I think it'd have been even more amazing for US kids because there was a lot of hype before we in the UK got to see it, and they'd have not been subject to that as much.

I managed to register. Do not think it will come to anything though.
£125 is a lot. I managed to get Prince tickets at the O2, and they were only £31 each. Then again, Barbra Streisand were over £300 iirc, though that's down to her ego as much as anything.
John Paul Jones arranged the strings on She's A Rainbow, if that's any help. And it's rumoured to be Jimmy Page playing guitar on Gloria, and You Really Got Me.
Led Zep in their heyday were awesome; whether they have anything left in the tank must be in doubt, though Plant is continuing to make decent music. I think in their favour they have a genuine love for their musical roots. Page has a less terrible haircut nowadays, but it's still not something you'd recommend.
I saw Star Wars in the cinema when it came out. Twice. I was 7 at the time. I remember enjoying it in a crash, bang, wallop sort of way, and having 7-Up for the first time.

What's the website for registering again? The link in the other thread is giving me a dodgy spyware looking URL when loading (and then it just dies)
Got as far as clicking on the register link last time, but then the website cut out. How many times did it take you to register James Tringham?
