Actor Chris Langham is due to be sentenced for downloading indecent videos of children from the internet.
The Bafta-winning star of comedy dramas Help and The Thick Of It has been in custody since he was convicted in August on 15 charges.
Some of the videos accessed by Langham, 58, of Golford, Kent, showed the worst and most horrific level of child abuse.
Langham admitted viewing them but pleaded not guilty because he did not want to be labelled a paedophile.
Judge Philip Statman warned that he would be considering handing Langham a prison sentence.
He said that the custody threshold had been "well and truly passed" and he would be looking at "punishment and deterrence".
Langham was arrested in November 2005 after video files were found on a computer, a laptop and an external hard disk drive at his home.
They were downloaded between September and November that year, and Langham claimed in police interviews and during his trial at Maidstone Crown Court that he was researching a character he was developing for Help.
He is due to be sentenced at Maidstone Crown Court later on Friday.
The actor was cleared of charges of indecently assaulting an underage girl as well as two counts of a serious sexual offence.
Thoughts on what he could / should get?
Don't think he'll get too harsh a sentence, but looks like he'll serve some time inside.

I wouldn't use any of those examples of particularly lenient cases.
How many times has Docherty escaped jail despite consistantly re-offending? IMO any "normal non celebrity" would have been locked up by now for what hes done.
