Hi all,

In a couple of weeks I start a new job in Andover (Hampshire), and will be looking to relocate to the area. I was just wondering if anybody was from around there, or if you guys had any advice as to good (and not too expensive) places to live?

I am a young single guy currently living in Bristol and would ideally be looking for a cheapish flat in a relatively lively area, although from what I gather it's best that I don't get my hopes too high!

If anyone has any opinions/ideas I'd love to hear them. Thanks.

Honestley I'd move to Southampton and commute if at all possible. Andover just not nice really.

You're moving from Bristol to Andover ? Voluntarily ? You fool.

Spent a while in that area with the Army during the '70s. Based at Middle Wallop. Nice place, but feck all to do.

Oh BTW , I used to live with my dad just outside of Andover. So boring as a place.

Hmm not exactly filling me with optimism!

I'm only going to be working there for a year and may head back home most weekends (I currently live with my parents) so this wasn't a long-term decision to up sticks and move entirely to Andover. However I would of course like to make this year as pleasant as possible.

So you guys reckon moving to Southampton is the best solution? That sounds good to me, any particular parts of the city that you'd recommend or suggest I stay clear of?

Near the Uni is a good place to start. It's where we used to go waay back. :thup:

My relatives live in Anna Valley which is on the outskirts which tbf is quite a tranquil place. Not a lot happening though.
