My dad's wife just rang me, he's had the doctor around today because he's hearing voices in his head (his brother who died around 25 years ago, he found him dead), the doctor has said that it sounds like he's got Schizophrenia. I've suspected something like that since he threatened to kill her a few months ago. He always tells me that he's fine yet obviously he's not. He can't work because of his fcuked up lung/heart so literally sits at home doing nothing.
A few months ago, on the campsite where they are, a tractor was set on fire, he told his wife that he did it because the voices told him to.
She's terrified to go to sleep in case he sets the caravan on fire, he's got a camera down his throat on friday to see his lung (waited 4 months ffs) and then the doctor will take it from there.
So fcuked up.
So has anyone got any personal experience? Be it a family member/friend?

Anyone any personal experience of Schizophrenia? Post #2
seriously though, a lad in my halls got diagnosed with schizophrenia after he went to see the doctor about having a rash on his face. turned out it was a psychosomatic rash and he was in the middle of a nervous breakdown. the thing was, other than being a bit weird about who could go in his room and who wasn't allowed, he was dead nice and normal.
then he got diagnosed with schizophrenia about two weeks into his counselling sessions and that seemed to drive him nuts more than anything. he started walking round the halls all through the night and threatening to batter people if they tried to speak to him. he went after my mate jamie with a champagne bottle after jamie decided it would be a good 'cure' to break into his room and trash the place. he dropped out not long after that.
thing was, i really got on with him right up until he dropped out. he didn't seem that mad or anything, he just seemed really sad and lonely.
