I have the same car and the best quote I could find was from Admiral, although a lot of companies wouldn't give me a quick quote due to the 'extras' on my car.
What year is yours now mate and what extras have you had done </BLOCKQUOTE>
Same year as when I bought it
It's a 54 plate and the rally lights and bodykit that were fitted when it was built bumped the insurance up quite a bit.
I'm the same as dafuge, Admiral were the best for my mini cooper s, with extras (the official aero kit from bmw, john cooper works bucket seats). The one thing to watch about Admiral though is that they usually don't insure any extras. i.e. if you wrote the car off (god forbid) you'd only get the money for a stock car.
Interestingly, removing my mum and adding my girlfriend as a named driver saved me about £100 , and changing my profession (from student to actuary) saved my another £300

Same sort of thing happened to me, adding my wife who had just passed her test reduced it by about £150.
