On the original topic the FIFA Manager series have a very nice looking interface and a fun game (with some fun features) - it's something you'll literally burn through seasons with. Is it enjoyable? Sure, in it's own way but you won't be playing it for very long and you'll eventually get bored.

FM is the only manager game I've played with any long term substance.

As good as PES? There's a world of difference between the likes of PES3/4 and PES5.

Fifa WC 2006 is a quality game. Far better than the messy rot that is PES5.

None of these games are simulations, at all, even slightly.

The Fifa is more 'arcadey' thing has always baffled me. Been a far slower and less flowing game fro years. Less accessible than PES for a while now too.

Not entirely, although I see your point. FWC06 no easier to score on it's highest level than PES6 on it's highest though. older Fifas you could rack up massive scores but not in recent years.

Not going to argue though, as PES6 is streets ahead of any Fifa game so far, and Fifa 08 seems to be worse than their last few efforts.

If you don't mind about extreme tactical detail and a little more arcade approach LMA is very fun game. Mind you I'd only buy the console version myself.
