Yeah Ashton would have been a better choice imo. Symptomatic of the lack of quality England have to choose from though.

he' still not match fit. Hasn't even completed 90 minutes yet.

He'll be in there come feb/march. Much better option then crouch imo. Although Crouch's record is superb

ashton has not shown any kind of form for west ham though due to just coming back from injury

heskey a miles better option atm
