Stat Attack for you.
Owen and Heskey have played up front for England 12 times. In those 12 games Owen scored 11.

If Hesk actually plays, would that break the record for amount of time between caps? Would be 3 years and 3 months.

GAPS BETWEEN CAPS
"Who has the longest gaps between England caps?" asks Owen Stride.
We're not absolutely certain about this, but Paul Fields and Geoff Clay both reckon the answer is Ian Callaghan, the man who played more games for Liverpool - 843 - than anyone else. Callaghan played two group games during the 1966 World Cup, but was not recalled until 1977, when Ron Greenwood was in the middle of what Paul Fields calls "his short-lived experiment of picking every English-born Liverpool player bar David Fairclough and the criminally ignored Jimmy Case".
| So Heskey has some way to go yet.

Madness. Heskey. He'll play as well. It will be Andy Cole next.
Better than Johnson starting I suppose.

tomorrow's sun alledges that Owen requested Heskey be recalled
and i've also read that McLaren was interviewed on TalkSport earlier and hinted that he'd asked Owen who he would like to partner him up front and he told him Emile, thus the call up.

| So it's not madness then? If it's better than one of the next forwards along the line?
