Darth, I think your post is sheer lunacy.
You can't start Deano for another 2 months IMO, just miles off the pace he is. Gabbs was ***** all season last term, if there was a change to be made in that back 4 it should have been Ginge in for Upson, how easily did Elano get round him for their first? And finally, Etherington instead of Noble? Surely that's a windup - Bowyer was SHOCKING, Noble didn't have his best of games but at least he puts himself about.
I still think Curbs is an extremely limited manager both tactically and in the transfer market. He seemingly lacks imagination when it comes to targeting players (aside from Faubert every single one of his signings have been from inside England iirc) and virtually every signing thus far has spoken more about Eggy and his vision rather than Curbs. I think he's just crap on match day, for example - Etherington and Mullins on at halftime was a positive move, as LBM and Bowyer were terrible. But as Etherington was settling in, and looking about our only avenue to goal, he takes off McCartney, brings on Ashton, and relegates our best chance of creating anything to makeshift left back :///////

I'd see those two as improving our team, but granted I see very little of Pompey aside from highlights of Taylor lashing them in every other week from 40 yards out and then kissing his ring in celebration.
Are they any good, why are their names being bandied about?

| Not a fan of your club, but this guy's right.
I think you need new central midfielders. Boywer's just useless and Noble is technically average imo. Especially as you have Ljungberg who could do with playing with a playmaker to pick out his runs.
You need to look abroad to find some quality players, espcially with the money your Chairman has, Curbs has no excuses. Quote:

They're no better than what West Ham already have. Especially Taylor when they have a good winger in Boa Morte.

Youre mostly right, Nathan, although Noble was beginning to show signs at the end of last season that he was making the step up technically (Bolton at home being the obvious one, setting up a goal with a lovely pass then finishing a Carlitos cross with a delightful volley) which just aids his cause given his tenacity and willingness to graft.
And the Dead Snake is gaaaaaaaaash.

Apparantly you lot are interested in Eidur Gudjohnsen, but the fee Barca want is around €10m.
You heard much about this?

We're apparently in talks with Eidur, but he wants to hang around and try and win a Champions League medal - even though there's, what, 6 strikers ahead of him in the pecking order? He'd certainly improve our team, but I don't hold out much hope of capturing him this transfer window, maybe in January or next season.
