Even if they had Pires or Dennis Freddie simply isnt the same player he used to be. The number of runs he makes has gone down, his superb finishing isnt so superb anymore and he seems to have lost a bit in every department.

On the other hand maybe he'll do well with the extra space he's likely to get, you never know.

Ok, an update on transfer speculation.

Aparently we've had a £12m bid accepted for Anelka, and have bidded for Dyer.

my gosh.

I love Anelka, i think he's one of the best strikers in teh premiership outside the top 3 clubs, but we are seriously trying our hardest to assemble the biggest collection of wankers since Westlife.

Don't really mind all this money flying around. It's a very interesting time to be a Hammer.

Still hold onto the belief that we should build a massive new stadium on Wanstead Flats. but heyho

The bid's been accepted? \o/\o/

That's not a bad strikeforce - Anelka, Ashton, Bellamy and Zamora. Carlton F'n Cole can get stuffed though.

I reckon we'll need one more winger (not Dyer pleeeeease), a left back and possibly another CM and we're not looking too shabby

Ask Toon fans what they reckon - he's pish AND injury prone AND would be playing in the same team as Lee Bowyer. Naw.

Why does this thread always die ffs?

Could it be because we're all interested in apathy?

Or the shower of ***** our team has been putting out?

Tune in to this thread in two weeks time for the exciting continuation of me grappling with this topic (Dear Curbs, please sign a left back, a CM, a creative midfielder and a striker in the next 2 and a half weeks. Smooches, hermolt xo).

It dies because I keep loosing it. I searched everywhere for it a few weeks ago, but thought one of the scummy mods (juni) deleted it again.

Everyone copy this into their favourites. Saves us from loosing it.

Same story this year I'm afraid to say. Curbs to be gone by September. Owww here's the pessimism again.

Can't understand why we didn't start with Ashton. Gabbidon should have started instead of Ferdinand at the back (I wish we would sell him) and Etherington instead of Noble.

IMHO expect more poor performances in the coming weeks. However, I think we'll stay up. We must sign werewolf from Barca though because Zamora ain't going to cut it if Ashton remains sidelined. Come on Eggy, a wage demand of £100,000 isn't that daunting, surely... :/

All in all pretty shocking stuff on Saturday. City looked more than decent but we just did so many things wrong. I think Mullins did well when he came on but otherwise it was all very disappointing after the words coming out of the club over the summer. I still think we'll finish somewhere between 9th-13th but this is a handy wake up call for everybody.

I think Ashton needs to start at Brum. Zamora is a decent option coming from the bench but sometimes when he starts a game badly he gets slowly worse.
