In terms of popularity or attendance I'd say Cricket would be England's 2nd game then rugby or golf then maybe Basketball.

It's not so popular with viewers, but pretty much everyone competes in athletics too.
The idea that basketball could be the second biggest sport on earth is laughable, just as laughable as the ludicrous press releases put out by the IRB about the billions of viewers for the Rugby World Cup and the broadcast deals in 170 countries, or the annual Superbowl boasting about "200 countries around the world" watching. People wearing basketball jerseys and knowing who Michael Jordan was doesn't mean people actually watch or care about the sport.
| Well i believe if you ask someone in england about Michael Jordan the 90% will recognized him. If you ask them the best player ever or American Rugby i hardly think that the majority of the people that u'll ask will recognize him

Basketball is quite fun to play, always enjoyed it at school. Always enjoyed dodgeball more though, dodgeball is fffb (although a bit rubbish after you get hit, especially if it's near the start)

| that might be because his name is in the news a lot.

| And about 50% of that 90 who recognise him recognise him only via his brand and not for being a basketball player. Like tons of people know the New York Yankees brand but aren't sure what they are exactly |

I think in terms of geographic breadth basketball is firmly no.2 in team sports, but well behind soccer. And it is growing quickly, unlike cricket and rugby which are still only popular in former British colonies and nonexistent elsewhere.
