Words you only find in the football lexicon

Seem to notice a few words that only get used in football situations. Not the obvious ones like possession or passing, but words like rescinded. You never hear that outside of football. Same goes for brandish, as brandished a yellow card. Maybe the rest of the world is too afraid to reclaim them from football.

Brandish gets used quite often tbh.

"The assailant was brandishing an axe"
