Leaders Liverpool return to Premier League action on Saturday lunchtime with a trip to Portsmouth, live on Sky Sports 1.

The Reds have made their best start to a Premier League season since 1994-95 and they will be hoping to maintain their place at the summit with victory at Fratton Park.

Both managers are waiting to check on the fitness of players who were away on international duty this week.

Liverpool could be boosted by the return of key duo Steven Gerrard and Jamie Carragher after injury.

Gerrard came through England's two games against Israel and Russia without any ill-effects from his toe problem, while Carragher has returned to training after recovering from his broken rib.

Benitez will wait until the last minute before deciding whether or not to start both players against Portsmouth.

Fernando Torres is expected to shake off a slight knee problem to take his place in the side, while Peter Crouch will be itching to start against his former club.

The game has come too soon for Fabio Aurelio, who made his return to action in the reserves earlier this week, while Harry Kewell is still missing for the visitors.

Steve Finnan faces a late fitness test after missing out for Republic of Ireland with a knee injury.

Portsmouth welcome back Sol Campbell and Benjani Mwaruwari after injuries.

Campbell has only played two matches this season because of groin and hamstring injuries and he is set to go straight back into the side.

Benjani has recovered from the neck problem which forced him to miss the defeat at Arsenal two weeks ago.

Deadline day signing Papa Bouba Diop could be handed his debut after arriving from Fulham.

However, Linvoy Primus is still sidelined with a knee injury which has ruled him out so far this season.
Man Utd, Chelsea, Arsenal then Liverpool within five games, not really what you want at the start of the season. Anyway, Sol returning will be massive but this will still be a tough game, I guess a draw would be a decent result.

2-0 to us, Torres and whoever partners him up front.

They'll give us a tough game, but we should win.

I'm going to the match too

I'm expecting a close game.

1-0 or 2-1 to Liverpool.

Pompey to snatch a late equaliser to grab a not-so-deserved 2-2 draw.

I'm surprised Setanta didn't pick it up, they are showing Chelsea vs Blackburn.
