Hopefully we'll repeat the trick from the Derby game and actually switch wings for extended periods of time, because Pennant actually looked quite good on the left (though he had ridiculous amounts of space).

It's worrying to see us lineup without the likes of Torres, Gerrard and Babel, no Kuyt in the squad... But even still it's a very strong lineup.

Pompey have a good record at home against Liverpool iirc.

If Utaka is playing then Pompey will win.

Its a big game for the likes of Crouch, Benayoun and Sissoko. Whilst we can mark the absence of others, this is a chance for players who want to feature more regularly to put on a performance.

Not that great. Beat them 3-1 the other year (Crouch, Cisse and Fowler with the goals), we beat them the season before with Garcia and Morientes scoring, and we also beat them in the FA cup 2-0 in 05/06 with Riise and Gerrard scoring.

We lost last season, but by that point we were fielding largely a reserve / youth / fringe squad.
