My Grandad had it. Caught relatively early, and he had some bag attached to his stomach which would be crapped into basically.
| Stoma bag for what it's worth.

I'm a Health Care Assistant on the surgical ward at my local hospital.
Very interesting job and I really enjoy it but you see a lot of sad stuff unfortunately.

Bowel disease is horribly rife in my family.
My Nan and Aunt on my mums side both died from it, another Aunt on my mums side has Crohns disease which is really, really horrible.
My mum and sister both have polyps and quite often have general stomach problems.
My dad suffers from Colitis and has had long stints in hospital. Colitis can easily spread to bowel cancer.
Colitis is also really nasty and my dad was often caught short and had accidents before it was treated properly. Not nice.
I'm pretty healthy though.

The PRH in Telford, a general hospital as opposed to a specific one such as where as you work, so you'll see it a lot worse than what I do no doubt.
Are you a HCA also or a SN? or something else? |

Yeh, my grandad has it. Had the bag fitted and everything. Must be about 10-15 years ago. His bag burst at work once, which must've been horrible.
However, he is 70 this year, has this awful bowel cancer, diabetes, two broken ankles, and various other tennis elbows and arthiritus stuff and is still the undisputed champion of cool.
Truly the most honest, kindest, funniest, most generous person I know.
Here's to my grandad.
WHAT. A. GUY. :*)

However he is getting slightly racist in his old age. As per usualy with old people?
Watching the Liverpool-Pompey game with him when the Dairy Milk advert came on at half time.
"Have we started the second half? Oh, no... I though it was one of the Portsmouth centre halves"
