I sat in the second/middle tier near the corner flag and the view was superb but the atmosphere was so-so. The only deafening noise tended to come either with a goal or when the fans were whistling with displeasure at something (and boy was that loud). Otherwise it was, as someone said a few posts ago, fairly dull.
One thing I noticed in the game I went to was that the home and away fans could be sat with each other with no animosity at all. There were lots of families there with little kids too, and people listening to the commentary from local radio via headphones. Rarely heard any fan chants.
There may be a section of the ground that's better for chants and stuff, but it seemed to me that it's with the stadium being pretty open the atmosphere is relaxed rather than noisy.
