Bought it today and have had to do the same thing. Currently reinstalling the original from scratch, then I'll get on to installing Kingdoms.

Basically need to do a full reinstall as I'd altered game files in the original install. Or that's what the forums said anyway.

After a complete reinstall my game is running fine.

I did notice on one of the forums, that if you apply 1.02 to a game you've edited (number of turns for example), it causes problems. That might explain why my 1.03 update wouldn't complete.

Anyway, a clean install does the trick... and yes, it's the retail version not the download.

England's resources are spread very thin. The beginning for me has been to move my troops around and put them in the 'marches' where they're needed.

Not bothering with this. There wasn't enough new stuff in the base product to make me want to expand upon it, even with the extras.

Looking forward to E:TW though, the 19th century my favourite period of military history.
