I wouldn't be so certain. You're forgetting that as individuals we are all largely unique and in that respect the effects of products like Aspartame will be difficult to accurately gauge. Then there's the flip side with large quantities of money being thrown around to keep it in the food chain.

I would stay away from all fizzy drinks, filling your body full of engineering chemicals and waste products etc isnt a good idea.

sod fizzy drinks, this stuff is put in yoghurts and squashes as well. Its in a load of stuff.

i massivly doubt that if it was so dangerous, that a big company such as Pepsi would use it, not because they give a damn what happens to their customers, but because they would get sued to oblivion.

iirc there's a conpiracy theory that a truckload of diet coke left out in the kuwaiti sun produced some sort of chemical reaction to the aspartame and that's what caused "gulf war syndrome".
