My Mother woke me up today to tell me, she has Breast Cancer. She is very positive because they have told her they "caught it early" and "it's only small".
She checked into hospital today and is having it removed tommorrow and if all goes well she'll be out and well again soon.
What i'd like to know is, what are the success rates in these type of operations? and how often does Breast Cancer reocurr?
That sucks man,I wish her well.I had a similiar problem during the summer when my uncle ws diagnosed with testicular cancer.Thankfully it too was detected early and he was given the all-clear a few weeks back.Afaik,if it is caught early, success rates are high.
Again, wish you and her well
Well I can't say I've had a personal experience of breast cancer But I did have one of my nuts removed this month due to testicular cancer. Haven't been given the all-clear yet, but it should be a formality.
If it's very small, so the procedure should be fine. Just need to keep on top of it, to make sure it doesn't start to come back in future.
My Mum had it in the 90's. From what I know it didn't 'reocurr' and nowadays she is much better. Hard for me to say how many years it will take because she had more illnesses then that so it made her worse sometimes. Im just thankful she is actually looking and acting well again nowadays.
nowadays it's very successful... i don't know whether you remember about a year ago i had a topic going on about my brother, he had leukemia.... nowadays he is much better, but havent been given the go ahead yet, but the leukemia is gone... hopefully!
Gl to your mom mate!
