Both my mother and my partner's mother have both had it.

My mum had it about 20 years ago, and I can't remember much first-hand other than that my dad had to cook for us (We nearly died of starvation) whilst my mother was in hospital getting radiotherapy. She's fine now, though does occasionally get crippling and sudden pains that she attributes to the radiotherapy damaging nerves but as she says herself it's a small price to pay to be alive.

My partner's mother had it nearly 8 years ago now, they didn't really catch it early and had to have one breast removed but has not had it come back since.

So fingers crossed, your mum will be fine especially if as you say it's been caught early. Stay positive and don't worry too much.

Is she having a mastectomy or a lumpectomy, do you know? If it's small, the latter would be more likely, which is a much less severe procedure to go through, so hopefully that will be the case.

Regardless of that, with early detection and treatment, the prognosis should hopefully be good.

Hope she gets better. My roommate's just had something spotted in her annual, so she's got an MRI coming up. Hopefully nothing.

no personal experience but my headmaster in secondary school had it-great guy, used to have assemblies which he'd plan out to hold your attention using props sometimes or just talking about what was on TV the night before .

remember at the time thinking it was a joke as i'd not heard of male's contracting breast cancer.

I'll add another to the my mother had it, caught it early, completely successful recovery camp.

Come a long way in this area. I guess the male dominated medical profession values healthy breasts for some reason.
