Default Security (Car Passes!) Question or...

Our work have just forced through some more security measures - amongst them is a parking permit which you are expected to permanently keep affixed to the wind screen.

my point (not backed up it would appear) is that this would over time, clearly identify my car, and therefore me, by where I work.
As i work in a slightly sensitive environment, i believe that the car permit is (security wise) self defeating as it makes it easier to identify personnel.

is there any evidence that supports my view or have I gone and got on a high horse i should get down from?

Does the permit say where you work anywhere on it, or is it just a generic thing with some numbers on it?

Yeah there was some rumpus at our place - I work for the NHS, unfortunately - about something along the same lines as you Geoff.

TBF i didnt listen to much of it as it was the same usual gas bags whining about it.

my security pass (physical pass) has a user number on it.

oddly, the pass (when swiped through a card reader) comes up with the same #algorithm as is displayed on the car pass...

anyway - not clearly identifiable at the beginning (the car pass) but as we work at one of the larger local employers, all too easy to recognise.

An old uni mate of mine wanted to be an air traffic controller. Went for an interview while he was still at uni. When he came back we asked him how it went.

"Good up to the point where they asked 'Would you say you're a decisive person?'"

His response: "Er, yeah...I think so!"
