I figure he's so quick I wouldn't need as high a level car as others, and I only offered for 12 races (5.25m a race mind), figured I'd have enough points then to basically guarantee promotion. And then get a super cheap driver.

Cimpulsively checking my driver offers page with the fear that somebody will snatch my backup driver from me. Tempted to make a 3rd bid just to make sure i'll be competing in the first race.

Do it, worst case is that you lose 500k and get a rubbish driver. Alternative is that you miss race 1 lose any chance of a 5Mill bonus and up to about 9Mill in race profit.
