I watched this great film last night, after not having seen it for many years. It tells the story of Joesph Merrick (wrongly called John in the film), who lived during the Victorian era. Joseph was born and suffered from genetic physical deformities, which whilst it may have made him something of a celebrity at the time - it also brought him pain and poor treatment at the hand of others.
The film itself is shot in black and white which adds to it immensely, IMO. I found the ending quite touching and overall it's an extremely thought provoking movie.
I recommend it to those who may not have seen it as yet.
