my wireless is now secure. Although i thank the internet cafe below my flat for having an unprotected wireless connection that i used for 6 weeks before BT sorted out my phoneline :thup:

Yeah you can hide the name of the network, but again it'll stop casual users but even an amateur hacker can get round it.

What does VPN do? I find that WEP and mac address filtering is enough.

You need to know the MAC addy you are spoofing though.

This has reminded me of something

Its probably me just being paranoid, its probably my **** router(bt home hub) but...

some afternoons (never the morning or night) my laptop will not connect to my network for one reason or another but suspicions arose in my mine that someone else could be using my network thats why i cannot connect. What is the liklyhood of this or am i just paranoid?

It is secured btw
