| For added security i'd just secure the wireless network with a VPN (if the router has VPN capabilities ofc), it's what i do with mine.

I'm on my second ipod now and would gladly buy a third.
They're extremely user friendly and quite durable so I'm happy enough with them.
Don't particularly think of them as fashionable.

Many do though Neil. Testified by the fact that some cheaper MP3 players now have white earphones so people can look like they've got an iPod.

Seem to recall someone here saying the white earphones were like walking round with a big ‘mug me’ sign printed on their forehead.
Never had a problem myself.

there's about 12 wireless networks I can pick up from home but all of them are secured.
Last year though my next door neighbour never bothered securing theirs, and as mine was crap I just used theirs most of the time.

A mate of mine found that dodgy 'geezers' were always parked up outside his house a year or so ago.
Then he started receiving huge internet bills after visits to premium sites and all that.
After inspecting outside he found some symbolic graffiti was on his pavement, which turned out to be a signal to all these people he had unsecured wireless for them to hijack |

My old router wasnt secured for a couple of years because i had to reset it that often i just gave up with the securing bit in the end. New one is all secure though.
IIRC when my brother scans for networks to join on his laptop only two show up - ours and the chap across the road who has his secured - which i'm pretty surprised about, that is of course, unless you can secure it and not have it show up at all when someone else scans for a network
