There was something in the news over here about this the other day.

Apparently there is a host of spyware you can download to your phone (must also install a trace program on the phone that is to be tracked) and then secretly and remotely control the phone by viewing inboxes/outboxes, and even tapping in on their calls, all without the user noticing it. Some programs could even use the phone's microphone while not in use. Scary!
