Oh the irony of it..... roughly 4 years ago he slated Bates and the club for selling out to Abramovich and moaned that he was expecting russian tanks pulling up on his lawn and firing £50 notes at his and every other club in an attempt to buy their best players....
you got to love this guy Dein.... he's got more faces than a town clock, what a hypocrite!
In Steve Howard's article in todays edition of the sun he descibes it like a white knight riding to the rescue yet, in the past, has likend Romans involvement in Chelsea as bad for the game and complained about to much money killing the game..... though I can't remember him complaining when his beloved Fulham were saved from extinction buy a more than dodgy Arab!
At the end of his article Howard says "Now, Wenger plus money equals one thing".... he doesnt say what that one thing is but he obviously means he thinks the Arse are gonna sweep all before them..... I disagree, Arsenal missed their chance to dominate when Roman bought Chelsea, Dein should have had the hindsight then to see what was happening and maybe should have shopped his lot around then when they were at the top rather than let others catch them and overtake them. Arsenal will always be up there challenging and they will win their share of trophies but their chance to dominate has passed them buy... If Dein had sold to Abramovich he would have killed two birds with one stone, he would have turned Arsenal into the richest club in the world and he would have sentenced us to the same fate as Leeds.... too late now my old son!
Finally, in my opinion, I feel Arsenal won't do any better than they are now even with a load of cash, Wenger's strength in the transfer market has been being able to find great players for next to nothing and selling them on for a massive profit... when he has spent big it has usually ended in the player being a flop.
