True, that when you boil any religion down it seems rather daft, but at least with Christianity there's APPARENTLY evidence of a Jesus of Nazareth existing around that time, and they follow the bible which is SUPPOSEDLY written by people who were alive at the time of Jesus and witnessed the events.

Scientology is based on aliens and machines that there is no evidence for written by a man thousands of years after this supposedly happened.

While they're both most likely as ridiculous as each other, Scientology just seems more loopy.
