Default For the Aussies (optus)

I left Aus in october last year ,Notifying optus of my decision to leave i asked them to cancel my phone line.I havent had access to my aus bank account till now whereby i noticed around about $2000 missing.
Further searching revealed 11 DD by optus (each 1 around the $200 mark).I rang optus who said they were unaware of the cancellation and that someone was using the line regardless and i was paying the bill.
Now 4 weeks later they have just taken another $220 without refunding me or cancelling the DD.

Sorry for the rant but has anyone been in this situation before and if so how was it dealt with?

Also How can i deal with it form Ireland?

Some reason thought you were an Australian living in Ireland.

Which is better, Dublin (where in the Dublin?), or the random Australian sheep station you lived in?

I do know of one person who thought they'd cancelled their mobile phone deal, only to be told (after noticing a few direct debits from their accounts subsequent to that) that they needed to use specific wording to cancel!

Perhaps you should try ringing your old number to see who is using it?
