Any Minute Now and Nite Versions by Soulwax did a lot for my appreciation of dance music as well. As did Louden Up Now by !!!.
i really wanted to buy one of the bronx's album. i remeber seeing one of their video of some agressive black guy pushing people over while he was walking down the street. but my friend said they were a racist band.

Ha, so racist. Think they say one racist remark on that whole album...and that song was a cover.

I probably agree with you, Smash was the second I heard, Ixnay probably my favourite now. Haven't listened to them at all for a while though...

Cradle Of Filth - From The Cradle To Enslave got me into metal generally.

Ultraviolence - Psycho Drama got me into...well, reviews seem to call it gabber or happy hardcore. Neither of those terms make much sense to me though, but I like the style.

Suicide Commando - Hell Raiser was the first EBM/electro-industrial album I heard.

Napalm Death - Scum got me listening to grindcore, and they later got me into death metal too.

Smash got me into punk, and Less Than Jake's Hello Rockview got me into ska-influenced punk.

Think it was RBF that got me into ska, although that was short lived.

Pretty much detest ska as a genre /o\
