Why are you not satisfied with it? I could argue that you're the victim of our society where we're bombarded with notions that being normal is bad and that we should always strive for more.
Contentment and happiness are internal emotions and if you allow them to be dictated by external forces then you are simply a victim of other people's expectations. What if you are just average, and unable to achieve any of your goals - you will look back at your lack of achievement and dispair. You will be a failure.
Everyone is different - you have no justification for criticising people for seeing the positive in what they do have. </BLOCKQUOTE>
That is a very Buddhist way of thinking, which I agree with. Life is not about what car you drive, what famous person you met yesterday, what you are doing tomorrow, or what you have achieved at work, those external things dont control your emotions only you can do that.
Yeah you could get a Ferrari tomorrow and be happy, but that Ferrari has not made you happy, you've allowed it to make you happy and as time goes on you'll get bored of it and either want an upgrade or just not appreciate it anymore.
Life is about being happy nothing more, I think i'll be content when I sort issues out with family, be in a position to do more stuff with mates and have enough resources to do various things, I dont care about money or possessions in honesty, it's more about my relationship with friends and family that's important, and that ultimately make me happy.
