**** me, I'd have had more faith in a Yobo special than AJ on that third penalty.

Easily 3-0? It doesn't mask the deficienies in our <STRIKE>team</STRIKE> manager. Even if by some small miracle we qualify for the group stage, we are going to get absolutely mullered by somebody. And I mean big time.

This apologist superfan nonsense really grates sometimes. Moyes is very good at a certain style of play. But he is absolutely limited to that, that is clear to anybody. And it is what will hold us back.

I dont think it would be a miracle for us to qualify from this point.. Aside from a couple of chances they showed very little..

At their place the pressure will be on them a little more to come forward. Which means we'll have more space in behind..

Im still very confident we'll go through..

Listen when we hired moyes we were hiring a young improving manager.. Last night was a pretty unique situation.. A team that came to goodison and literally sat back and said 'break us down' for 90 mins.. You can probably count on one hand the amount of times thats happened whilst moyes has been in charging..

These european games are still very new to moyes, as well as the players! Not many players we have who you could say has great european experience..

Get behind moyes and the team...

Who would you rather have in charge?

Thing is though, they don't have to attack at their place - they have an away goal. So, again, the onus would be on us to find a breakthrough. They showed little, but played very well, I don't think it was ever their attention to attack. How long does the "young and improving" line have left to run? I'm sorry, tactic/playing wise Moyes has not changed in five years, and he's not going to change. He's a one-trick pony - he'll play percentages, go for the 1-0, try to keep a clean sheet and play quite defensive, utilising the pace of a forward player via the long-ball, or the height/strength of an/the other forward with the long-ball. We created nothing yesterday that wasn't the result of a long-ball or a set-piece. I wouldn't really call last night even a European game, it wasn't about patient build up and passing about, we played the game on our terms - fast paced, closing down, we dictated the game. But. We weren't up to it, we weren't good enough. You can argue that he has built our best squad in twenty years, but we don't play like it. We play exactly the same as we did when he inherited us, with the dross and all.

Blind faith is what you're asking for, in moments like these I simply refuse to give it. Who would I rather have in charge? I have absolutely no idea of what we have to offer other managers (in terms of wage, transfer funds, control etc) nor who would actually be interested these days so I can't proffer any suggestions on that. What I do know is that this really is Moyes' make or break season. What's the point in qualifying for Europe if we embarass ourselves everytime? Moyes has done a good job taking us from perennial strugglers to genuine European place competitors...I'm just not sure that if he's capable of taking us any further. And there can be no room for sentiment in this game, if he's not good enough, he has to go. Probably not during the season, I'd give him until the end.

But that won't happen, Kenwright is too much of a luvvie.

Moyes has taken you lot as far as he can, tbh.

Now, if you think that you have the resources (through the board/new ground etc) to challenge in Europe, then maybe you should consider looking for a new manager with the experience of such campaigns.

Otherwise, stick it out with Moyes and either stay as a 5th place team, or wait for a few seasons until you can really make that leap.

Oh, and sell AJ while you can still get something for him, and go with Yak and Anichebe/Vaughan up top.
