He isn't an idiot because you're both right from a different perspective.
Theoretically there is no exclusion of gay people from the World Cup. But socially, within football boundaries, it has so far been very difficult for gay footballers to come out.
There are gay footballers in the professional game ofc - and statistically 10% of all players in the last world cup were gay*
*this is simplistic as footballers are a demographic not neccessarily representative of society as a whole.

well le saux played in france 98 so the main world cup is for males of either sexual orientation
