Think I paid £55 for the Champions League final at Old Trafford a few years back.

Spurs charged £55 one year so I refused to go. Chelsea also tried charging a lot (think it was around £50) so again I just didn’t go.

Birmingham did exactly the same last time they were in the Premiership. They’re in the position of being one of the clubs most likely to go down so will make as much money as possible while they still can. Fans are still buying the tickets so they’re not going to change their policy.

I’d love it if one club held a boycott, which might encourage other clubs to follow suit. Would need to be a big campaign though since you’d need to make sure no one picked up tickets. Unfortunately I can’t see it happening any time soon.

In 2002, i paid for two 90 pound tickets for an Arsenal v. Middlesborough game from a scalper - luckily it was a 4-1 to Arsenal - great game.......

I paid £50 for a ticket to see England V Brazil at Wembley a few months back. It was a class position though, on the second row, near the centre of the pitch. Wouldn't do it often though.

I find it utterly disgraceful that any club (or international) side can deem it necessary to charge such an extortionate amount to watch a football match.

I have even refused to pay the £22 to watch my beloved Southend United, as I feel even by League One standards thats too much. Christ it wasn't that long ago I was only paying £10 to watch them.

So in answer to the OP:-

Hell No!

Us Hibs fans got angry when Hearts broke the £30 barrier for our derby.

Brum have come out fighting and issued a statement-

Birmingham City FC can confirm that, contrary to speculation, ticket prices for the Birmingham City vs. Aston Villa fixture in November, tickets will NOT be charged at £55.

The club operates a category pricing system at St. Andrew's for all fixtures.

For example there will be 4 x 'C' category games at £15 adults and £5 concessions across the season, right up to AA category fixtures - one against Manchester United and one against Aston Villa.

The price in the Railway Lower for this game will be £45 for adults and £23 for concessions.

Tickets will be on sale from October 15 and will be available at the same price for both sets of supporters.
