in that case Andrew Cole should be considered.
Of course. I saw Cole smash Hughie Gallagher's Newcastle record, back in 93/94. He ended up with 41 goals all told, that campaign.

As for Fowler, he was probably the best English poacher of his generation. Pity he burned himself out/lost interest really.

eric just annoyed he can't say cantona now.
20 in 40 for France&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;30 in 63 for England

esp when you consider his playing days for France were well before he reached his peak, and he was far from a goalscorer. I really don't want to turn this into a Cantona v Shearer debate, but if you're going to mention one of them along side Pele and Eusebio I know which one I'd pick. </BLOCKQUOTE>

If you take into account Fowler's extensive drug use then better than both tbf. </BLOCKQUOTE>

Add to that he is a fat bastard and he certainly did do well considering  </BLOCKQUOTE>

aye the British Maradona.

Shearer was a very different kind of striker, to Cantona. However the latter's impact on the Premiership with Man United is much vaunted.

Henry can only be mentioned once we hit the RvN vs Henry stage of the thread. Tradition.

Just Fontaine, without his injury he would of possibly scored 25+ world cup goals
