how did I know Shearer would be in there? ffs. Not even one of the top 5 players to have played in the premier league, probably wouldn't get in the top 10, though I'm sure you'd disagree.

I didn't say Shearer wasn't an excellent striker - of course he was.

I'm loathe to reduce this to a statistical comparison however as there's too many variables in football to use such a limiting basis for an argument.
