To be fair, I think all the networks offer a 14 day money back guarantee. But it's good that you can get coverage maps online.

Dunno if Orange have an online coverage map, I've just had a look on the website but can't see one but I only did a quick search.

Orange do have one, I checked it yesterday with the other major networks and the whole area is high 3g coverage.

If it is just up in my room where the problem is I can use a landline no problem.

O2 and Orange have both worked fine for me in south Sheffield. Vodafone didn't at all.
