Default quick paypal question

right, just signed up for ebay and paypal, now ive added my debit card to my paypal account, does this now mean if i win something on ebay i can just pay for it through paypal with my debit card? or do i have to transfer funds into my paypal account first? (if so ive only seen via a bank method?).

You have to add bank transferring (or what ever it's called). Takes about a week to set up. after that, yeah it will debit it from your account.

You can, it's called "bank funding" but, like I said, it takes a week to set up.

For some reason it's started taking a week to pay anything for me. Calls itself "eCheque", but doesn't offer me any other options. Odd.

I had the same problem, I think it occurs when you don't have enough money in your bank account to cover the paypal payment. Could be wrong though.

Only the first time mate. They deposit two small amounts of money in your account - you verify what they were and off you go. Works instantly after that.

im now a bit confused, as a bit of a test to see what would happen, ive typed in a friends email address and £1 to send to him, now its come to the confirm page and its saying i can pay for the £1 via the debit card i added to my account? so surely that means i could do the same for something i buy off ebay?

Well that is confusing. as AFAIK you have to set up bank funding to confirm it's actually your card. I could be wrong though.

As a favour, I'll help you test it - transfer £100 to my account and see what happens. Email in profile.
